Further to my previous entry, I'm now considering the range of fragrances produced by Clive Christian, who, in a deft move at some point near the birth of the world wide web, went and registered the domain www.clive.com. Quick work there, Clive.
Anyway, his renowned perfume, the No1, is supposedly the world's most expensive. Pah, I thought, how expensive could it be? Well, Four Seasons are selling 30ml for the extremely reasonable price of $2,150. Man, I bet that smells good. But now I read that the company is working with
the world’s sole Professeur des Parfums, Roja Dove, on a limited edition of 10 Imperial Majesty perfume bottles in Baccarat crystal containing 500ml of Clive Christian No1, set with a five-carat brilliant cut white diamond.
OK, so that's 500ml of perfume, at just under $72 per millilitre, which works out at $35,833 for the perfume alone. And what about the 5-carat diamond? Well, I wouldn't call myself a jeweller as such – I've just done a cursory search on Google for "diamonds" – but that would suggest at least another $20k. Then add on the Baccarat crystal, which I imagine wipes the floor with your average tupperware container. Add it all up, and you're talking not much change out of $60,000, there.
Splash it all over.
