Alright? I'm the technology columnist for The Independent, and have written stuff for The Observer, the Radio Times, The Guardian, Olive, Zeppotron and many others, on subjects as scintillating as crumpets, Morrissey and data centres. I've written a book about wasting time on the internet called FWD This Link, and another called The Next Big Thing which is a history of things that seemed like a good idea at the time. I sometimes go on the radio, too.
I've been in so many terrible bands I've lost count, but these days I play with Scritti Politti, Gentlemen's Agreement, Keith John Adams and occasionally Frank Sidebottom. There's more information about me here. Sorry about that.

Diageo VALUES Survey

Diageo are a firm who own several brands of alcohol, including Pimm’s and Guinness. You may have enjoyed these sumptuous alcohols yourself, who knows? Anyway,on the tube on Friday morning I saw a Diageo employee who had a piece of A4 paper poking out of her bag. The heading read “Diageo VALUES Survey”. That was annoying enough, but below the headline were printed the following words:

Passionate – Freedom – Proud – Best – Valuing

Which just about made me want to chew my own feet off.
