Alright? I'm the technology columnist for The Independent, and have written stuff for The Observer, the Radio Times, The Guardian, Olive, Zeppotron and many others, on subjects as scintillating as crumpets, Morrissey and data centres. I've written a book about wasting time on the internet called FWD This Link, and another called The Next Big Thing which is a history of things that seemed like a good idea at the time. I sometimes go on the radio, too.
I've been in so many terrible bands I've lost count, but these days I play with Scritti Politti, Gentlemen's Agreement, Keith John Adams and occasionally Frank Sidebottom. There's more information about me here. Sorry about that.

excellent

Britannia College Of Excellence. “Excelling towards Excellence”.

This particular institution doesn't have a headmaster, or a vice-chancellor, no, it has an Executive President. How excellent. Excelling towards excellence. What do you have to say, Mr Executive President?

“It is our thoughtful belief that quality education will be the sole vehicle that will derive our future as a knowledge based society.”

Very thoughtful. Very thoughtful indeed. Excellent. In fact, excelling towards excellence. But what about telly? I mean, watching telly derives my future as a knowledge-based bloke. Doesn't it?

Look, I'm not sure what I'm trying to say here; I just saw the sign and laughed out loud. I'm aware that it doesn't necessarily make an excellent journal entry, or indeed one that excels towards excellence.
