flintoff

Nice to see England triumph in the cricket again.

Towards the end, West Indies player Tino Best came in to bat. He's an arrogant little sod, and while our very own Andrew Flintoff was batting yesterday, lifting sixes all around the ground and generally making mincemeat of the West Indian bowling, Best was giving him all kinds of lip to attempt to dent his concentration. Flintoff, hero that he is, took it all in good humour.

Anyway, by the time Best came out to bat today, the game was more or less finished, and the England players were crowding around the batsman to cause maximum intimidation. Best was having problems hitting the ball. Flintoff called out to him. “Hey, Tino. Mind the windows, won't you?” The prospect of Best hitting the ball further than a few feet, let alone through the windows in the pavilion, was slim. Next ball, Best charges down the pitch in an attempt to smash the ball out of the park, misses it by a mile, and is out. Flintoff and the rest of the fielders around the bat collapse in giggles. Fantastic. Revenge is sweet.
