I'm on the Croatian pear liqueur

today.

1. I thought that “classic” was a horribly overused word. Way too many things are described as “classic”, day in, day out. Then I read the definition in the dictionary today, and it was so broad it could feasibly be applied to pretty much every possible noun you could think of. So it's no longer going to bother me.

2. Jenny is out of hospital. She ended up undergoing the kind of surgery that I could have performed with some smelling salts and a needle, except she used up a hospital bed for 24 hours. Would have been a highly comic situation if it hadn't been so deadly boring.

3. Talking of classics, the actual classics were not pitched at children. Homer did not write “Odysseus Goes To Town”. Plato didn't write “Socrates Has Fun.” This may sound obvious to you, but I need to remind myself of this kind of stuff.

4. I have tinkered with a CGI script and written a song called “Don't Come Cheap” tonight. And to think I could have wasted that time going out and having fun with friends.
