Suddenly, at 10am, broadband goes down. I've got a slew of things to email out, and I have a great deal of timewasting to achieve, looking at various websites like this one. Disaster. I reset the router. I restart the computer. I reset the router again. I telnet to the router to check the login settings are still intact. I disconnect the wireless network and get Back To Basics. Still no joy. I ring BT. No reported faults in my area. I ring customer services, and am put through to a helpful lady on the Indian subcontinent who guides me through another reset process. But still I get the solitary, blinking ADSL light. Nothing. She is unclear what has happened, and starts to fill in a fault report in order to get an engineer out to me, within 48 hours. Deeply annoying. Eventually she ends the call, and I wander into my bedroom and open the window for some fresh air.
