Long Awaited Release

I had about 4 hours sleep on Friday night – my own stupid fault, really. You can’t go to bed at 1.45am and expect to get 8 hours in before the alarm goes off at 6.45am. Time just doesn’t work like that. In fact, I didn’t even get to hear the alarm – I was up at 6.15am, looking out of the bedroom window at a depressing torrent of rain smacking onto the window ledge. The plan was to shoot this video in Embankment Gardens from 8am until 4pm. [info]alexdecampi, video director of note, had wearily told me the previous day to stop stressing about the weather forecast, because I was winding her up with my pessimistic attitude. I took no pleasure in proving her wrong as I put on a raincoat and dug out the umbrella.

By the time I got to Embankment, however, the rain had stopped. In fact, apart from about 6 drops of rain at about midday, it didn’t rain again until we were packing up at 4pm. I’m sure [info]alexdecampi took no pleasure whatsoever in proving me wrong, though. It went almost without a hitch: I was swept along on a wave of professionalism, although this was occasionally threatened by vagrants wandering over and asking us if we were Germans. Oh, there was one nervous moment – these sugar glass Perrier bottles that were earmarked for smashing over the heads of actors cost £7 each, and one of them was accidentally dropped by [info]marysiak within scant seconds. Which meant me scouring the local shops for a real bottle of Perrier to use as a prop until the smashing started. Can you find Perrier on Villers Street? No, you bloody can’t. For gods sake, local tradesmen, get a grip, would you? Some of us are trying to shoot a video, here.

Anyway, the video will, apparently, be ready on Wednesday. In the meantime – the thing is out. Released. Out today. A friend of mine found it yesterday on HMV Digital, even. I’ve no idea how HMV Digital works, but you can get it on iTunes, or, if you despise Apple almost as much as McDonalds, you can get it from me direct, slightly cheaper, with no DRM and minimal hassle. I’m easy, either way. The notion that you might not buy it at all hadn’t really occurred to me.
