Oh, What A Night

In The Four Seasons' 70s comeback hit, “December 1963 (Oh What A Night)” Frankie Valli decided to give lead vocal duties over to Bob Gaudio, the guy who wrote the song.

What a lady, what a night…
Oh, I got a funny feeling when she walked in the room
and as I recall it ended much too soon…

Poor Bob. I've seen stuff on the TV advertised by Pele that could have helped him out if he'd had that problem today. I can imagine the scene in the recording studio:

Frankie: “This bit about it, uh, all ending much too soon, Bob…”
Bob: “What about it?”
Frankie: “Well… Er… Look, I can't identify with it, y'know?”
Bob: “Oh. Well, yeah, it was a bit embarrassing for me… but I wanted to properly capture the events of the night in this song, you know?”

Frankie: “I tell you what, Bob.”
Bob: “What's that, Frankie?”
Frankie: “Why don't you sing it?”
Bob: “Oh. OK then.”
