This is a pretty amazing resource; previously you had to own this book (2 Used & New from £215????) which only went up to 1992 or so, and then Jon's site for the rest. Now it's all distilled into one handy package.
All the info seems present and correct, by which I mean that my own three appearances are in. But it also gives a chance to look back and find the stuff that I taped as a teenager, the stuff which completely changed my outlook on music – none of which appear in the top 125, which obviously has been chosen by people other than Peel himself, because he's dead.
Big Flame's 3rd – produced by Dale Griffin. Must be among the strangest sounding Peel Sessions ever recorded. If I remember correctly, Griffin got so narked at their continued insistence on no reverb and loud guitar, that he ended up getting drunk and taking the piss, with all the other instruments and vocals virtually inaudible. Which is, of course, what they wanted. Result.
Bogshed's 4th – I remember it being on when I was on holiday in Wales, at my grandparents' house. I had to listen to it at incredibly low volume to avoid waking my sister up. The next day I went into Swansea to try and find their records. Obviously I found nothing.
[Haha - rather hilariously, mid-80s scratchy funk merchants Twang – scrawny white boys to a man – are represented on the site by this picture; this particular Twang would have been about 12 when the sessions were recorded.]
Sudden Sway's 2nd – a mind bending narration of a trip through time and space, which I've blathered on about at length on this blog before, and which has this as a particularly moving highlight.
Man, I should be working. Does anyone else have particular Peel Session memories?

No comments. There's internet tumbleweed.
