Alright? I'm the technology columnist for The Independent, and have written stuff for The Observer, the Radio Times, The Guardian, Olive, Zeppotron and many others, on subjects as scintillating as crumpets, Morrissey and data centres. I've written a book about wasting time on the internet called FWD This Link, and another called The Next Big Thing which is a history of things that seemed like a good idea at the time. I sometimes go on the radio, too.
I've been in so many terrible bands I've lost count, but these days I play with Scritti Politti, Gentlemen's Agreement, Keith John Adams and occasionally Frank Sidebottom. There's more information about me here. Sorry about that.

I just received a spam email on the address that Tim and I used to use for our Resonance FM show – an address that is invisible on the internet. Odd. It featured this picture:

Not only am I unable to offer a translation of the above, but I don't even know what language it's written in. I suggest, however, that it might read:

SAY GOODBYE TO YOUR FRIENDS, WITH:

HEELY-WHEEL!

AN UNWANTED CONCEPT IN TRAINER TECHNOLOGY! LIFT UP YOUR TOES, AND FALL FLAT ON YOUR BACK! WHOOPS!

I particularly love the way that they've photoshopped these ridiculous items of footwear over the top of the feet of two people who are undoubtedly wearing normal roller skates. I'll have 7 pairs, please.
