So, this band I keep banging on about because it's my own godforsaken creation, The Free French, have an mp3 single released today, called Fireman. I posted a slightly unfinished version of it a few weeks, nay months, ago, but with the help of it has been moulded into a crowd-pleasing but nevertheless floor-clearing triumph.
It's available for the measly price of £1 on this page at the new hitBACK shop. If you're feeling moderately benevolent, do show this benevolence by considering at least for a moment to buy the thing…
Our labelmates and Spearmint also have new tracks available today, and I believe there's a deal where you can get all 3 for £2.50, or something.
If you'd like to sing along, feel free:
Fireman
I look at you in wonder
while you accept your prize
and I fantasise how this might rub off on me
changing my appalling way of life
please, could you put things right?
If something needs moving from Barnet to Tooting
I'd be disconsolate, you'd have the master plan
At the height of the summer, with flowers in colour
You'd be a sunny day, I'd be a hosepipe ban
When infernos are raging
and furniture blazing
I'd be the arsonist
You'd be the fireman
I lost my bag at the airport
so that's my keys and my wallet too
so I have to cancel all my credit cards
but I've got no idea what to do
and so I turn to you
If something needs moving from Barnet to Tooting
I'd be disconsolate, you'd have the master plan
At the height of the summer, with flowers in colour
You'd be a sunny day, I'd be a hosepipe ban
When infernos are raging
and furniture blazing
I'd be the arsonist
You'd be the fireman
