You Are 10

just nudged my memory. Today is the 10th anniversary of the first gig by Spearmint. I toiled away as their co-manager until 2001, and more recently had the pleasure of producing tracks on the albums My Missing Days and A Leopard And Other Stories.

“Giving indie a bad name since 1995″, said a wag at the NME once. Oh, I disagree. They've been responsible for dozens of glorious tunes, particularly “Go” from A Different Lifetime and “Start Again” from A Week Away, which surely rank as two of the all-time throat-lumpers.

Happy birthday, Spearmint. Long may you continue.
